Technical Explanation of RS06 Track Roller Bearing Failure Batch Defect Incident

Dear RIPPA Customer:

Regarding the market-reported RS06 track roller bearing failure issue, RIPPA R&D Center has conducted testing and analysis. The identified problems, root causes, and corrective actions are described below:

1. Problem Description

During machine operation, the rear track roller exhibits damage/failure.

1. Root CausesThe test analysis reveals the following root causes:

• 1)The original bearing is a deepgroove ball bearing, which can carry relatively high radial (vertical) loads, but cannot withstand lateral (axial) forces generated during machine turning over extended periods.
• 2)The track roller shaft drawing has no hardening requirement; its strength and hardness are insufficient for longterm service requirements.

III. Corrective Actions

To address the above issues, our company will implement the following corrective measures:

Replace ball bearings with tapered roller bearings. This bearing type provides superior loadcarrying capacity: vertical (radial) load capacity is approximately 1.68 times that of ordinary ball bearings, and lateral (axial) load capacity-the key differentiator -is more than 10 times that of ordinary ball bearings.

Add a hardness requirement of HRC 58–62 for the track roller shaft. Additionally, incorporate hardness testing into the inspection criteria, with testing performed on each batch.

In response to the above countermeasures, we conducted sampling tests on 10 units of this model in our plant, and all test results met the applicable testing standards.

For the above problem resolution plan, our company will initiate a recall process for affected units, providing free replacement parts, repair work instructions, repair videos, and other services for all involved product vehicles.
